Open a New Account

A water service account with the Goleta Water District may be opened either by:

  • Phone: Call the District’s Customer Service Desk at (805) 964-6761
  • Online: Click here to access a convenient online form
  • In Person: The District customer service counter located at Goleta Water District 4699 Hollister Avenue Goleta, CA 93110 is open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday.

When you call in or come in to open an account, that account will be put in your name – you may not establish an account for another person.

  1. Have the Following Ready

    We’ll need the following information when you open an account:

    • your name/spouse’s name
    • service address of new account
    • whether you own or are renting at your new residence
    • your home and work telephone numbers
    • billing address
    • copy of a driver’s license
    • $37.00 fee for establishing a new account.
  2. Determine If You Need to Have a Deposit Ready

    If a customer is the property owner, no deposit is required unless customer has a previous record of late payments to the District.

    Customers renting property must pay a deposit. The deposit is due before the water service can be put into the customer’s name. Failure to make the deposit will result in a termination of
    water service for the customer.

  3. You May Need to be at the Property When Service is Started

    If the water supply has been disconnected at your new address and a District employee must come out to turn it back on, your presence may be required.
